The Village of Mattawan Police Department is dedicated to providing the finest in professional law enforcement aimed to preserve the peace and protection of persons and property. To this end, the dedicated officers of the Mattawan Police Department aspire to be responsive to community safety needs, vigilant to public safety issues and trends, and respectful and courteous to residents and visitors of the Mattawan community.
The Mattawan Police Department operates under the direction of Police Chief Jeremy Mansfield. The Chief of Police is responsible for the overall management of police services in the Village. Reporting to the Village Manager, the Chief and his staff plan, organize and direct all police department operations to provide a safe and orderly environment for residents and visitors alike.
The Department provides police coverage 24 hours, 7 days a week, with police officers ready to respond to emergency calls, accidents, and other police-related matters. The Department boasts 7 full-time police officers. The Police Department places a strong emphasis on community policing through the development of partnerships with residents, community organizations and business owners.
